Aamna Sharif is one of the most loved TV actresses, who ruled the small screen in the early 2000s. Born on July 16, 1982, in Mumbai to Persian-Bahraini mother and Indian father, Aamna Sharif studied at the St Anne’s High School in Bandra, Mumbai. She started her career as a model when she was in the second year of college. Aamna modelled for
some major brands and ended up featuring in over 40 ads. Apart from advertisements, she was also seen in a few popular music videos such as Falguni Pathak’s ‘Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya,’ Abhijeet’s ‘Chalney Lagin Hain Hawain’ and Kumar Sanu’s ‘Dil Ka Aalam Main Kya Bataun Tujhe’ to name a few. Aamna made her small screen debut with Ekta Kapoor’s famous TV show ‘Kahiin To Hoga’ in 2003 and soon became a household name courtesy her acting chops and crackling chemistry with co-star Rajeev Khandelwal. Rumours
were rife that Aamna and Rajeev were dating each other. However, their rumoured affair came to an end after Rajeev decided to leave the show. Aamna’s silver screen journey started with Tamil film ‘Jjunction’ in 2002 and she made her Bollywood debut with ‘Aloo Chaat’ opposite Aftab Shivdasani in 2009. She was last seen in Hindi film ‘Ek Villain.’ Aamna returned to the small screen after a gap of six years with the TV show ‘Hongey Judaa Na Hum,’ which was pulled off the air a year later after poor TRPs.
The actress was also seen in ‘Ek Thhi Naayka,’ a 16-episode horror-thriller produced by Ekta Kapoor. Aamna Sharif married film distributor-producer Amit Kapoor in 2013 and is a mother of a three-year-old boy Arain Kapoor. (All photos: Aamna Sharif/ Instagram)
